I knew you were waiting with baited breath! This isn't actually the best shot to display my haircut but it's all I've got at the moment and my Mom wanted to see a picture last week. Hi Mom! :)

Bahston with the Smiths
Disclaimer: This posts contains lots of pictures! Oh- and annoying attempts at imitating the Bahston accent. Just warning you.
The first weekend in June, we flew up to Boston, Massachusetts to spend the weekend with Anne and Brian (AND baby girl Smith). On Friday we took a trolley ride and a tour of Fenway park. We had lunch at Boston Beer Works right by the park. That night, we went to the Red Sox Game at Fenway. They played the Texas Rangers (and lost). We had GREAT seats thanks to Anne and the person who messed up at Stub Hub. Their mistake, our benefit! Our actual seats were about 20 rows in front of what we paid for. Charlie loved taking the tour of Fenway and going to the game, however it was odd as he has a deep dislike of the Red Sox as a devoted Yankees fan. It was weird to watch. He'd be so excited about the history of the oldest ballpark in America but this was contrasted by his dislike of the Red Sox. Oh well- and they say women are complicated! :)
On Saturday we went to Anne's mom and stepdad's house on a lake and went out of their speedboat. We all went tubing (Anne went very slow and did not lay on her stomach!) and paddle boating and kayaking. It was so peaceful-it reminded me of Loon Lake. Then we ate burgers and played a game called Pit. I STINK at Pit. I lost miserably, which is interesting because it's basically a game of luck and chance. There are two card you don't want to end up with at end of every hand. I ended up with either one or BOTH of these cards almost every hand. If you know me, you know I don't like to lose, however it eventually became amusing, except when Charlie refused to play with me since I seemed to have the "curse"! :)
On Sunday we went out to breakfast at Anne and Brian's favorite breakfast spot, Percy's. It was very yummy-I got maple butter on my pancakes! (I love maple anything!) After breakfast, Brian had to leave (tear!) to drive to NY for work. In the afternoon Anne, Charlie and I walked around Plymouth. We walked on the beach, saw the Mayflower and the Plymouth Rock, did a little souvenir shopping and ate some lobstahs! Plymouth is such a beautiful little town and I can totally see why Anne and Brian are so happy there. We had such a great time in Massachusetts with them and can't wait to see them again soon!
(that's slang for Boston Red Sox- look how I pick up the lingo..)
This shirt cracked me up. Anne explained that apparently this is a popular saying around Bahston. Though I immediately began using it, I did not hear anyone from the area actually say it. I'm trying to implement the term in DC and now I wish I had the shirt....
Brian, the consummate photographer, braved standing in the middle of the street to get his shot, narrowly avoiding getting hit by a bus. As his friend, I should have been watching for the bus, but I was busy taking his picture. Sorry Brian!
I saw a colonial man and I was stoked. Go ahead, call me a geek.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun....
The last weekend in May, some of my friends from school came down to Virgina to have a reunion! This particular group of ladies all lived on the same hall my sophomore year of college and we all just "clicked". Our hall that year created wonderful, lasting friendships. This weekend we stayed at Anna's house and spent time hanging out there, at the mall in DC and at our house for dinner on Saturday. I love having friends who I have known for a number of years becuase it is so exciting to see our friendships grown and develop as we move through different stages of life. In this particular group of friends, two now have children (who are ADORABLE!) and it was great to spend time with the kiddos as well. Just a few of the pictures are below:

You can take me out of PA, but you can't take PA out of me!

Haircut
Just wanted to say I got my hair cut yesterday. Short. Shorter than I anticipated when I walked into the salon to see my wonderful stylist, Julie. But I think it's kinda cute. It's much better than the hideous short haircut I endured my senior year of high school. Sorry I'm still in my pjs right now so no pictures of it. Plus Charlie hasn't seen it yet (he got home after I went to bed last night and hasn't woken up yet) and I'm interested to see his reaction. I prepared him verbally so I'm hoping he doesn't freak out. Not like he should. It's not HIS hair. Anyway, the moral of the story is that I think it's cute but not sure if I will go this short again. I may post a picture if I feel the urge to shower today.
Why wouldn't I shower? Because I'm working from home today (yeah flexible work schedule!) so I can diligently wait for the A/C repair guy. That's right our A/C is on the fritz. Not that I care- I could go almost all summer without air conditioning but Paisley and Charlie disagree with me. Just pray for me that the bill from the repair guy doesn't cause me heart palpitations. Where's a landlord when I need one!?

WE ARE. PENN STATE.
We learned this phrase quickly as my baby sister graduated from THE Pennsylvania State University on May 16th. She graduated with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management. Charlie and I went up early on Saturday morning to attend her major's recognition ceremony and then her actual graduation in the Bryce-Jordan Center (the concert venue). Very different than my graduation from Eastern.
After graduation we all had dinner at the Nittany Lion Inn. In between the graduation festivities, we visited the famous Creamery and had some AMAZING ice cream. We spent the night in a dorm (yeah for cheapness!) which made me feel like I was back in school!
In case you're wondering, shortly after graduation, Meg landed a job as a restaurant manager at an upscale restaurant in DC attached to a Kimpton hotel. So now she's close to us! Yeah! Congratulations Meg!

Part of our gift to Meg. The mug says "I graduated. Now I'm like smart and stuff". Heh heh.
Since it takes a presidential order to near the Lion Shrine on campus on graduation weekend (yes, it's call the shrine) my picture of this replica will have to do
Being silly with the Lion Paws in front of the art museum on campus
My, what big hands you have!
Paisley was proud of Meg too!
