Things I don't want to forget

Time is clearly rushing by to fast and we've been busy. We've de-cluttered are our house (read: moved crap to the garage or a friend's basement), listed it for sale (and still waiting for offers), Charlie fiinished up his spring semester, I trained for and completed a sprint triathlon, got sick with mono, and traveled to PA 3x in the last month. But among all this Josie is hurtling towards TWO and I don't want to forget some of the adorable things she's been doing lately.

  • She's very into animals right now. Dogs are clearly her #1 favorite and she full out loses it if we're someone's house with a dog and she can't pet it IMMEDIATELY. She doesn't understand that not all dogs want to be touched. She also loves to make the "who who" sound for owls, point out birdies (which sounds exactly like baby when she says it) and her newest trick is doing the "crabbie". This involves moving her fingers together in a pincher grip right by her face and smiling a lot. This evolved one night when I was trying to get her ready for bed and all she wanted was her owl jammies (cue the "who who who" over and over again). The available jammies had a crab on them so in order to get her to follow my directions of getting dressed...I made something fun up and now it's a "thing".
  • We (usually) pray before our meals. Up until now we've been singing this song my friend Anne taught me. I recently taught Josie to pray in a non-singing way with her head bowed and hands clasped. It's adorable. To signal that she wants to pray (b/c I'm terrible, often forget and dig right into my food) she wrings her hands together and then bows her head while looking up at me...which ends up looking kind of creepy.
  • She loves corn on the cob right now. The first time we gave it to her she didn't really know what to do with it but that was all the practice she needs. She destroyed a whole cob last night at dinner.
