As mentioned in a previous post, we went to an event called the Band Aid Ball one Saturday night in April. Our friend Kristine works for a Christian nonprofit called Cross Link International which provides medical supplies to medical missionaries in developing countries. Each year they have this fundraising ball that donors pay money to attend and then bid on items during an auction. Well, some donors paid for an entire table but then could not attend so Kristine was asked if she could fill the table with willing people who did not have to pay but just come and eat the yummy food. So she asked us and a few other couples we also know through them. It was so much fun! We didn't bid on anything but had a great meal and were entertained by the Virginia Latin Ballet. It was an awesome experience, even if we felt like imposters among the "high rollers"!
